Psychologist for the Eating Disorders Unit, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

We are now recruiting a psychologist for the eating disorders unit at child and adolescent psychiatry! Your Workplace Clinic 5 is a specialist unit consisting of an eating disorders unit and an OCD team. The eating disorders unit assesses and treats children and adolescents with eating disorders as the primary diagnosis. We are a smaller clinic that works closely together. We work in a multidisciplinary manner and the treatment team includes physicians, social workers, nurses, psychologists, and a dietitian. We are now expanding our psychology resources from two to three psychologists and developing the psychologist's role at the clinic! Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health challenges. Together with other stakeholders in the region, we have the mission to offer equitable, needs-based, and cost-effective care for children, young people, and their families. Collaboration with families and other actors such as schools and social services is a large and important part of our work. It is a large workplace with approximately 200 employees with different professional backgrounds. We work in multidisciplinary teams and share responsibility for the patients assigned to our team. The patient is clearly our focus. At Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, there is ongoing development work to improve care for our patients and the opportunities for our staff to perform excellent work. At Clinic 5, significant development work has been underway over the past year, and as a work group we have a strong focus on maintaining high-quality care and creating a pleasant work environment. By expanding our psychology resources, we want to continue improving care, and you will have an important role as our new colleague. We are in a development phase where we are reviewing how neuropsychiatric issues can best be managed within our operation. Within the psychology group, you will have the opportunity to influence your continued mission and work. We are a health-promoting workplace that offers wellness hours, continuous method development and supervision, as well as internal training in the form of themed sessions. Your Responsibilities We work with family-based treatment where patients receive support from their parents in overcoming their eating disorder. We often work in pairs and leverage the different professions within our team. Treatment plans are individualized and vary in intensity based on need. Our most intensive treatment form is family day care, where our eating support team can provide meal support during weekdays. We also offer family member group treatment. Your main responsibilities are to assess and treat children with eating disorders, primarily through family-based treatment. A large part of the work involves collaboration internally at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and externally with collaboration partners. The work largely consists of team-based activities. Given that many patients may have other conditions and difficulties, the work also includes support and treatment for issues such as depression, other anxiety problems, or neuropsychiatric difficulties. Your role also includes providing education, supervision, and consultation to internal and external care partners. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for a licensed psychologist who is established in your professional practice. You do not need previous experience with eating disorder treatment—you will have the opportunity to develop this competency with us. What is most important is that you feel confident in clinical work, have strong clinical assessment skills, and are motivated to work with patients with complex issues. The work involves meeting with patients who often have extensive and complex care needs. Therefore, we are looking for someone interested in treatment work, able to manage difficult clinical situations, and comfortable working in close collaboration with other professions. It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry or specialist care. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric conditions and comorbidity is also beneficial, as is experience with neuropsychiatric assessments or other assessment work, since many of our patients have complex issues where these perspectives are important. As a person, you are proactive, flexible, and have strong collaboration skills. You have empathic abilities, listen carefully, are receptive to others, and adapt to different situations. You are able to see the bigger picture and act with the organization's best interests in mind. A Category B driver's license is required as work-related travel may occur. We place great importance on personal qualities and are looking for a colleague who can complement our team! About Region Värmland We are here to ensure that everyone living here feels well and that our region is attractive and competitive.
