Are you a nurse with an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry? Department 48 offers a qualified care environment with a focus on collaboration, development, and a good work environment. Your Workplace Department 48 is an inpatient ward for children and young people with severe psychiatric issues, such as severe eating disorders, severe self-harming behaviors, affective disorders, psychosis, and high suicide risk. The department is located in the Psychiatric House in Karlstad and works in close collaboration with other units within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Eating Disorders Unit, and Child and Adolescent Medicine. The department offers four to five care beds and we have new, fresh facilities that are child-friendly. The department has a department physician, resident physician, nurses, a care-coordinating social worker, a psychologist, a dietitian, and care assistants and nursing assistants who rotate on day/evening/weekend shifts. We have close staffing levels and see great benefit for our families in having time for quality psychiatric care. Together we work systematically with our work environment where everyone is involved. With us you will: Participate in developing our processes on the department. Make a difference for children and young people in need of individualized support in their daily lives. Have very varied, stimulating, and developmental work along with regular further training and supervision, which in turn increases care quality. Continuous case supervision. Personal Safety Training 3 times/year. Individualized orientation in our existing emergency services. Opportunities exist for personal areas of responsibility related to current care. We work on a fixed rotating 10-week hybrid schedule. The schedule was developed together with the staff, and we are proud of the work we have done together. Your Work Tasks With us, you will perform medication monitoring in close collaboration with physicians as well as routine medication management. As a nurse, you will be responsible for care and participate in treatment interventions for patients and families. All staff on the department work with skills training and use a low-affect approach. Your work also includes collaborating with care neighbors, developing care plans, and conducting assessment conversations. The department actively works with systematic occupational health and safety where everyone is involved. You get to participate in and influence how things are done both overall and in detail. You also have the opportunity to spread a positive approach and have the conditions for good work that is characterized by this. Together we strive for the best possible care. This position is a temporary assignment for a minimum of 6 months but can be extended up to 1 year. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We see that you collaborate well with others, listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You build and maintain relationships. You ensure that messages are conveyed and that expectations are clear for all parties involved. You plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently, while also contributing innovative ideas that are put into practice and create results. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Meritorious qualifications include specialist training in psychiatry and/or child and adolescent care. Experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, pediatric medicine, or eating disorder care is also meritorious.
