Industrial Electrician
At Konecranes in Värmland, the team continues to grow as the customer base and assignments expand. We are now seeking an additional industrial electrician for the service team, where eleven technicians currently work closely together serving customers throughout the region. Konecranes is a global leader in material handling with over 16,000 employees worldwide. At the same time, operations in Karlstad are characterized by something considerably more down-to-earth. Here, people work closely together, help each other in daily tasks, and build long-term relationships both within the team and with customers. – "What makes people stay here is the combination of freedom, variety, and team spirit. We have very different backgrounds in the group, but a strong drive to help each other," says Ola Rising, Operations Manager at Konecranes. A role where troubleshooting is everyday work As an industrial electrician at Konecranes, you work with service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hoists, cranes, and other lifting equipment at customer sites throughout the region. A large part of the work involves keeping equipment running that is critical to customers' production. In some cases, it involves planned service and preventive maintenance. In others, it means responding quickly when something stops and rapidly understanding what caused the problem. You work with everything from motors, contactors, and frequency converters to older relay-based solutions and more modern control systems. The role is not about programming new systems, but you need to feel confident troubleshooting, monitoring function, and understanding the interplay between electrical, control, and mechanical systems in the facility. – "It's important that you feel confident in troubleshooting and enjoy understanding how things work in practice. At the same time, you don't need to know everything from the start. There's a lot of experience in the team and we help each other a lot in daily work," says Ola. From one facility to many different environments Unlike a traditional industrial environment where you work with the same machinery every day, here you have the opportunity to visit multiple different customers and operations. This means variety, but also development. You'll see different types of facilities, troubleshoot in new environments, and build broad technical knowledge over time. For many, it's precisely the combination of technology, problem-solving, and customer contact that makes the role especially stimulating. Service technicians work from home and drive directly to customers. The area primarily covers Värmland, Dalsland, and parts of Örebro County. A long-term commitment Konecranes places great emphasis on introduction, training, and development. New employees work alongside experienced colleagues initially and gradually grow into the role. There are also great opportunities to develop further within the company over time, both technically and in other roles. – "We want people to feel that this is a place where they can continue to develop over a long time. Many who start with us stay for a long time, and several have also moved into other roles within the company later," says Ola Rising. Examples of work tasks • Troubleshooting in operational environments • Preventive service and maintenance • Repairs and component replacements • Work with motors, contactors, and drives • Work in both older relay-based systems and more modern control systems • Documentation and reporting • Technical dialogue and support at customer sites Are you the one we're looking for? We believe you have worked several years in industry, for example as an industrial electrician, service technician, or automation technician, and are experienced with troubleshooting in operational environments. You don't need prior experience with hoists, but you need to feel confident reading electrical schematics, reasoning about function, and methodically approaching troubleshooting. The role also involves working at height, which means you need to be comfortable working in lifts and on hoists at customer sites. We would like to see that you have: • Upper secondary education in electrical work • Experience with troubleshooting in operational environments • Experience with motors, drives, and control systems • Good knowledge of Swedish and English • Driver's license category B To thrive in the role, we also believe you appreciate freedom with responsibility, enjoy meeting people in your daily work, and like the combination of technology and practical work at customer sites. Information and application In this recruitment, Konecranes is working with AxÖ Consulting. If you have questions, please contact the responsible recruitment consultant, Emma Domare: [email protected] or 072-398 02 67. Selections are made on an ongoing basis and the position may be filled before the final application deadline of June 24. Please note that background checks may be conducted for final candidates.
