As a nursing assistant/care aide, you play a key role in a team with nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists who work closely together. About Villa Sisjödal Villa Sisjödal is a senior living facility located in the Askim district of Gothenburg. The facility has 90 places divided into 5 units for people over 65 years old with physical and cognitive impairment. Those of us working here include a facility manager, unit managers, activity coordinators, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, nursing assistants, and care aides. Youth Care: We have a partnership with the company Youth Care. This means a team of young people aged 14–18 years visits us on weekends and school breaks. Youth Care conducts various activities with us to add that special touch to the lives of our residents. Unit Managers: You have a manager close to you who spends part of their time working in the facility. This can also be a career opportunity for you as a nursing assistant. Animals in Care: We work with animals in care and we have regular visits from therapy dogs. VR Technology: We have introduced VR technology at the facility, which allows residents to experience various travels, adventures, or games through VR glasses. Your Experience and Knowledge We imagine that you who apply to us: - are drawn to work that is varied and requires extensive knowledge of care and service, but also a talent for meeting people in different situations. - are a creative person who dares to think independently and take responsibility. - enjoy working in a team and supporting your colleagues. We prefer that you are a trained nursing assistant/care aide or have equivalent experience working in elderly care. I love speed and excitement and am looking for a creative assistant with a youthful spirit who wants to go on adventures with me. I love fast-paced play and am looking for someone who will help me drive radio-controlled cars, jump on a trampoline, ride roller coasters at Liseberg, play with trains, swim in the sea and at swimming pools, and run in a frame runner or various races in a special running stroller. I also enjoy calm and relaxing experiences like visiting Eldorado and the sensory rooms there. I like spending time with my friends—we go to wheelchair dancing together, among other things. I hope that as my assistant, you will help me take initiative in activities that my friends and I can do together and help me stay in touch with them. I have cerebral palsy, severe intellectual variation, bilateral cochlear implants, and epilepsy. I have a feeding tube in my stomach that I use when I can't eat through my mouth. I have no verbal speech but am very expressive and communicate through eye contact and body language. It is therefore important that you are attentive and can read my needs and what I want. I am also practicing communication using picture support in a PODD book and eye-tracking computer. I need help with everything in my daily life, such as getting dressed and undressed, eating and medication, diaper changes, washing, and becoming more independent in play. Scope of Position The position is 50%, but there is an opportunity to work more if you wish! Working hours vary; typically you will work weekday afternoons from 2:30 PM–8:30 PM and longer weekend shifts from 9:30 AM–8:30 PM. We hope you can start in mid/late August.
