About Villa Höjden Villa Höjden is a newly built and modern elderly care home that was completed in early 2022 and is part of the new residential area Ekebäckshöjd. The facility is close to both Slottsskogen and the Majorna district. The facility has five floors and there are 90 comfortable, spacious and bright apartments. On each floor there are 18 apartments divided into two units plus a shared kitchen and balcony. We have three floors for dementia care and two for somatic (physical) care. On the 7th floor there is a celebration floor with direct access to a fantastic roof terrace with wonderful views. There is also a spa room for foot and hair care with views over Gothenburg harbor entrance, Älvsborgsbron, Karlatornet and more. There is also a large terrace on floor 1, where we hold our celebrations and entertainment, dine, grill and other fun activities. We are a dementia-certified facility, which means that everyone who works here is trained in dementia care and interaction through Vardaga's Dementia Academy. We collaborate with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of young people aged 14-18 visit us on weekends and holidays. Ung Omsorg organizes various activities to add quality to life for our residents. You have a group leader who spends much of their time working close to you in operations. Becoming a group leader can also be a career opportunity for you as a nursing assistant. Here we work with an activity pedagogue who enriches our residents' lives; we constantly have activities going on and we also have animals in care and we have Otto, our therapy dog. As a nursing assistant you are extremely important! Your task is to provide quality of life. With your help, our residents can maintain their lifestyle and their habits. You see each person and interpret what they need. At the same time, you learn a lot about care, aging, and how to interact with people. "It's all about meeting people, being able to adapt and understand what people need. You'll have colleagues and learn a lot about teamwork! Fun things, activities and outings happen frequently. You are closest to the residents and therefore have a key role in the team with nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. You also participate in care planning and write social documentation.
