About Villa Höjden Villa Höjden is a newly built and modern senior living residence that was completed in early 2022 and is part of the new residential area Ekebäckshöjd. The residence has proximity to both Slottsskogen and the Majorna district. The residence has five floors and features 90 comfortable, spacious, and bright apartments. On each floor, there are 18 apartments divided into two units, plus a shared kitchen and balcony. We have three floors for dementia care and two for somatic (physical) care. On the 7th floor there is a celebration floor with direct access to a fantastic terrace with wonderful views. There is also a spa area for foot and hair care with views of Gothenburg's harbor entrance, Älvsborgsbron, Karlatornet, and more. There is also a large terrace on the 1st floor, where we host our parties and entertainment, dining, grilling, and other fun activities. We are a dementia-certified residence, which means that all of us who work here are trained in dementia and care through Vardaga's Dementia Academy. We have a partnership with the company Ung Omsorg. This means that a team of young people ages 14–18 visit us on weekends and school breaks. Ung Omsorg organizes various activities to add extra joy to the lives of our residents. You have a group leader who spends most of his time working close to you in the operation. Becoming a group leader can also be a career opportunity for you as a nursing assistant. Here we work with an activity pedagogue who brings extra joy to our residents. We constantly have activities going on, and we also have animals in our care, including Otto, our therapy dog. As a nursing assistant, you are incredibly important! Your task is to provide quality of life. With your help, our residents can maintain their lifestyle and their habits. You see each person and interpret what they need. At the same time, you will learn a lot about care, aging, and how to treat people with respect. "It's primarily about meeting people, being able to adapt and understand what people need. You'll have colleagues and learn a lot about teamwork! Fun things, activities, and outings happen often. You are closest to the residents and therefore have a key role in the team with nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. You also participate in care planning and write social documentation.
