Substitute Staff Member at the Recreation Equipment Library

Description Do you want to work in an operation that combines sustainability, movement joy, and social inclusion? We are now seeking a staff member for a temporary position at Fritidsbanken in Ljusdal, which is part of the Recreation Unit within the Living Environment Sector of Ljusdal Municipality. The Recreation Unit consists of approximately 20 employees distributed across four work teams: the Recreation Unit office, Fritidsbanken, Färila swimming and sports hall, and the sports field caretakers. Fritidsbanken is like a library – but with sports and recreation equipment! Here, everyone, regardless of age, can borrow equipment completely free of charge. The operation is built on reuse, and by giving more people the opportunity to try new activities, we promote a more active, equal, and sustainable society. Job Responsibilities As a staff member at Fritidsbanken, you work with the daily reception, lending, and return of sports and recreation equipment. You meet visitors, ensure the facility is inviting and functional. You help visitors find the right equipment based on their needs, age, experience, and activity, and you happily answer questions about how the equipment works or is used. You register new equipment, stock the shop, maintain order in the facility, and contribute to a welcoming environment. A large and important part of the work consists of equipment care – you wash, clean, repair, and maintain the equipment so that it can be used by the next person who wants to be active. You also help assess whether returned equipment intended for reuse is intact, safe, and approved for lending, or whether it can be repaired with simple means. You will also work with simple administration, such as registering and tracking equipment in our digital systems. To strengthen Fritidsbanken's visibility and accessibility, you also participate in our social media communication, where you contribute content that showcases the operation and inspires more people to borrow equipment. The position includes close collaboration with colleagues within the Recreation Unit, but you also have contact with other parts of the municipality – for example, associations, schools, and independent schools – where you help reach more children and young people with our operation. The work is varied and social, and you get the chance to make a concrete difference in people's everyday lives. Qualifications You are a positive and responsible person who thrives in a role where service and meeting people are in focus.
