Supervisor for New Initiative at the Employment Services Unit
Description:
Description The Employment Services Unit (AME) in Ljusdal Municipality offers individuals with longer pathways to work in the regular labor market an opportunity to increase their skills through internships and/or fixed-term employment. The long-term goal is for the individual to establish themselves in the regular labor market or begin studies and achieve financial independence. We are a committed and cohesive group of approximately 25 permanent employees who, in various roles, work toward the same goal: to meet and develop the individual while contributing to sustainable societal development. The new initiative has been developed in close collaboration with social services and aims to provide context and activities for individuals who need it. The initiative is flexible and tailored to each individual's needs. Responsibilities We are looking for someone who is a confident and stable leader with experience making quick and well-founded decisions even in stressful and complex situations. Your empathetic abilities and patience are strong, while you set clear professional boundaries and maintain high integrity. You are a natural role model who demonstrates personal maturity and has a flexible, innovative approach to work methods that creates individually tailored interventions promoting participants' development. You also have strong collaboration skills with experience in interdisciplinary work, particularly in cooperation with social services, healthcare, and labor market actors. As a supervisor, you will work closely with one or more participants to create conditions for social interaction and meaningful activities. You are a confident and unifying force in the group and are responsible for coaching conversations, guidance in simple work tasks, and practical support, such as picking up participants from their homes to ensure their participation. You are part of a team consisting of team leaders and other supervisors, but need to be able to work independently and make decisions based on current situations. Qualifications To be well-equipped for this role, you must have at least three years of documented experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues, psychiatric disabilities, or other socially vulnerable groups, preferably combined with experience in psychosocial support interventions. We expect you to have solid competence in motivational interviewing (MI), preferably in addition to basic CM training. Deep knowledge of and practical experience with Harm Reduction principles, as well as experience working with the Housing First concept, where stability and security are created as a foundation for change, are important aspects of your work. It is also an advantage if you have experience in supervision, coaching, or teaching with a sociopedagogical or psychosocial focus. We require high digital competence for documentation, reporting, and follow-up of interventions. Your ability to assess and analyze complex social situations, including experience with risk assessments and safety aspects, should be well developed. You must be able to communicate clearly and adapted to each individual's needs, both orally and in writing in Swedish. Class B driver's license for manual transmission is an absolute requirement, as well as experience driving trailers. Educational Requirements The minimum formal education level is post-secondary studies in areas such as social work, substance abuse care, behavioral science, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent. Specific certifications such as CM training, MI certification, or other specialized competence within social work and substance abuse care are considered major advantages. Other The position requires a police clearance from the suspicion and criminal registers. Interviews may begin before the application deadline and a probationary period may be applied. The work may include elements of physical labor, which requires good basic fitness. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and interviews may begin before the application deadline expires. A probationary period may be applied.
