Cook - Temporary Position
Do you have a passion for cooking and enjoy work with varying pace and daily tasks? We are now seeking additional temporary cooks for the municipality's food service unit. The Workplace The Department of Infrastructure Management operates a wide-ranging service including units for streets/parks, water and sewage, planning and building, property management, food services, and cleaning services with related administrative functions. The food service unit manages nine different kitchens ranging from full-service preparation kitchens to receiving kitchens that primarily serve as a service function for the municipality's various departments based on their food service needs. Job Responsibilities As a temporary cook, you will be offered work covering for regular staff absences, which can involve both planned and urgent vacancy solutions. This may include work in all kitchens within the food service operation. Daily tasks include food preparation, dietary cooking, food handling, and daily production planning. Qualifications We are seeking someone with cook training from upper secondary school or equivalent education/experience. We prefer candidates with documented professional experience. You need knowledge in dietary cooking, data skills, and experience with HACCP and familiarity with this working method. You should have a strong interest in food and cooking, good collaboration skills, be service-oriented, and have a flexible mindset since every day will be different. You must have good Swedish language skills to work according to our kitchen instructions, HACCP plan, substitute handbook, and to communicate with our customers. Chef in Resource Pool Including Supervisory Responsibilities

The Workplace The Community Development Administration has a diverse operation encompassing units for streets/parks, water and sewerage, planning and building, property management, food services, and facility maintenance, along with related administrative services. Within food services, we are responsible for several different kitchens throughout the municipality, ranging from school kitchens to elderly care kitchens. This position is placed within the resource pool, which means you can staff all our kitchens based on vacancies and needs. We prepare food from scratch as much as possible, bake our own bread, and work to use as much locally grown and Swedish products as possible, while reducing food waste and CO2e emissions. Job Responsibilities As a chef in the resource pool, you will work in several of our kitchens and cover both planned and urgent vacancies. The work includes duties on weekdays as well as weekends. Your primary responsibilities consist of food preparation, special diet and therapeutic cooking, food handling, and daily production planning. You will also participate in planning, development, and follow-up of operations to ensure a well-functioning meal service. The role also includes responsibility for daily staffing of substitute employees and planning and coordination of the resource pool's work. Supervisory tasks may occur as needed. Qualifications We are looking for someone with chef training at the upper secondary school level or other training and experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have documented experience working in large-scale kitchens or restaurant kitchens, and it is an asset if you have knowledge of therapeutic cooking and HACCP. You have good computer skills since the work involves handling orders, staffing planning, and working in various digital systems. Experience with leadership or coordinating tasks is an asset. As a person, you have a genuine interest in food and meals. You are flexible, service-oriented, and thrive in a role where your workdays vary and where you need to quickly adapt to new workplaces and situations. You have good collaboration skills while being able to work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. This is essential for you to be able to follow kitchen instructions and HACCP plans and to communicate with colleagues, customers, and other partners. You should have experience planning, coordinating, or managing operations and feel confident making decisions in your daily work.
