During nighttime, you and a colleague will be responsible for watching over him while he sleeps to ensure his safety. This can involve everything from providing a calm and secure embrace when he wakes up sad to quickly responding when a pacifier is needed. Previous experience is not a requirement – all training and orientation will be provided on site. Apply today; selection is ongoing! Therefore, no prior knowledge or previous care experience is required. Here you are offered meaningful, awake night work as a personal assistant with a focus on supervision and care of a 16-month-old boy in his home. The boy was born with a weakened airway and therefore breathes through a small plastic tube in his throat (a so-called Trach). Otherwise, he is a cheerful and completely healthy little boy. During the night, your main task is to watch over him while he sleeps to ensure he sleeps safely. This means you monitor the trach and ensure that the plastic tube stays clean with the help of a handy steam machine and a small medical "vacuum." In addition to supervision, you will also handle simple practical tasks, such as inventorying materials in storage, ensuring the boy's clothes are in order, and cleaning pacifiers for the coming day. The boy usually sleeps through entire nights, which means night shifts are typically characterized by calm and quietness – while your presence and attention are always important. The family consists of the boy, his mom and dad, and the family dog. They live in a large newly renovated villa with good bus connections and good conditions for a pleasant work environment. As a person, you are calm, empathetic, and responsible. You have a good ability to be present and attentive even in calm and quiet environments. You understand that night work requires structure around sleep and recovery to keep yourself awake and focused even during quiet nights. You are comfortable entertaining yourself during calm periods, while always keeping the child's needs in focus. Furthermore, you are punctual, reliable, and flexible, with the ability to cover for colleagues if needed. You also have a good understanding of what it means to work in someone's home and always act professionally, respectfully, and attentively in the home environment. All necessary training and orientation will be provided on site, so previous experience is not a requirement for the role.
