Stenungsunds Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region Municipal Association, which serves as a forum for collaboration and knowledge sharing, as well as several other intermunicipal partnerships. We work to improve the living conditions of our citizens and are now seeking someone interested in joining our unit that works with Economic Assistance. As a social services counselor on the Support and Livelihood Unit, you need to believe in people's own abilities even when the person you meet may not believe in themselves. You need to understand how society works, and it is an advantage if you also have experience working with people who are far from the job market. 1 position(s). DUTIES Work with economic assistance is built on two parts. First, we ensure that people have an adequate standard of living, and second, we support people in becoming self-sufficient. In this work you meet people in different life situations and your task is to assess their right to assistance, develop an appropriate work plan together with the client, and motivate them toward change and independence. There is a strong focus on ensuring everyone receives the right support based on their individual circumstances. To make this even better, we collaborate with the Labor Market Unit (AME). Our goal is that the measures and methods we use strengthen people's self-determination and facilitate their path to self-sufficiency. Parliament has decided on a new activity requirement for adults receiving livelihood support. The purpose is to strengthen the path to self-sufficiency by offering meaningful employment and increasing opportunities for work or studies. This work has already begun in our municipality and the law takes effect on July 1. We have made significant progress in digitizing our applications and processes. This frees up time from the administrative side of the work. We use this time to strengthen the social work for people who need considerable support to become self-sufficient. We value respectful and good treatment, legally sound processing, and confidence in people's own strength. You will be part of our work team which currently consists of one team leader and seven social services counselors who work with intake and implementation. Together with the team and the Labor Market Unit, you will help shape future support for those we serve. The methods we use include: - Establishing work plans and implementation plans together with each individual - Interventions through the Employment Service, AME, the Älv and Kust Coordination Association, and our own rehabilitation activity Åbacka trädgård. - Collaboration with other units and partners, through, for example, SIP, resource group work, or multiparty meetings. - IPS method. QUALIFICATIONS You have a degree in social work or other relevant higher education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience working in a social welfare office is a merit. Previous experience with livelihood support is a merit. You have a positive attitude and you see the value of collaborating with others so that each person gets access to the right support in their unique situation. A B driver's license is required.
