Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's Happiest Municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we have chosen together and a reminder of who we serve. In every encounter with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we must think with our hearts. And it starts with us. Now we are looking for a driven group leader for the adult services unit, with a focus on financial assistance and FUT (erroneous payments). THIS IS WHAT YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE As a group leader for financial assistance and FUT, you will have a central and multifaceted role where you combine close, coaching-based leadership with strategic development. You will be your team members' direct supervisor, and much of your day will involve leading and distributing daily work, leading case reviews, and being available as a reliable support in client work. You will guide the team through investigations, assessments, and difficult decision-making within the framework of public authority responsibilities, and you will also have an important task in introducing new employees so they become comfortable and independent in their roles. The unit has a broad and important area of responsibility that, in addition to financial assistance and FUT, also includes harmful use and addiction as well as intimate partner violence. In your role as group leader, you will drive business development forward together with the unit manager. This means you create and implement new working methods that align with our overall goals, while also gathering inspiration from external monitoring and networking. Together with the unit manager, you have great responsibility for engaging, motivating, and inspiring employees toward innovation, with the aim of achieving the unit's goals and maintaining high quality in social work. WHAT THIS ROLE REQUIRES: You hold a degree in social work, behavioral science, or another higher education qualification that the employer deems equivalent. You hold a Class B driver's license. WHAT WE VALUE HIGHLY: Good knowledge of the target group and solid experience working with financial assistance and public authority responsibilities according to the Social Services Act. Experience in work leadership, coordination, or leading others in a similar role. Experience working with erroneous payments (FUT) or combating welfare fraud. Experience with similar tasks within municipal operations or politically controlled organizations. YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES We believe you are a person who is a trustworthy and stable leader with high personal maturity. You build trust through your calm demeanor and your ability to be a support to your employees, even when the pace is high and workload increases. You have excellent communication skills and are responsive and unpretentious in your interactions with others. Through a coaching and engaging approach, you motivate your employees and build strong relationships both internally and externally. You work in a structured manner and easily grasp the bigger picture, even in complex matters. You make well-reasoned decisions, are solution-focused, and can adapt when circumstances change. You see opportunities for development and are eager to help drive the operation forward. You are also a team player who enjoys collaborating and building good relationships. Through good cooperation, both internally and with external partners, you contribute to creating results and developing the business. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. WHY WORK FOR US? In Flen municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at and outside of work. We offer, among other things, flexible vacation arrangements, wellness allowances, and compensation for patient fees up to the high-cost threshold – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting options. You can read more about what it's like to work for us on the municipality's website: http://flen.se. In the adult services unit, we take our mission seriously, but we also believe in the importance of job satisfaction. Apply by attaching your CV, any certificates, and answering the selection questions.
