Your Work Tasks As an occupational therapist in ordinary housing, you will work throughout the municipality, with our office premises at Sala Hospital as your base. You will be part of a team with a physiotherapist, nurse, rehabilitation assistant, and home care personnel, and will be responsible for occupational therapy assessments and interventions for the municipality's residents who need rehabilitation services in their own homes. You will also have close collaboration with the home care unit manager and coordinator, benefits officer, and external partners such as primary care centers and inpatient care. There are great opportunities for experience exchange and support when needed, as you will have daily contact with your colleagues in the rehabilitation team. The fact that we share premises with the region's rehabilitation personnel at the hospital also provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and facilitates collaboration in connection with discharge from hospital wards. Through a person-centered approach, you will plan and conduct occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and follow-ups based on the individual's personal goals and circumstances. You will have a natural and active role in the team around patients regarding preventive, function-preserving, and activity-promoting interventions. Together with the unit manager and other colleagues, you will also participate in the organization's quality and development work. In addition to patient-centered work, your tasks will also include supporting, mentoring, and to some extent training care personnel in, among other things, function- and activity-preserving approaches and assistive device handling. It may also be relevant to mentor students from the occupational therapy program at Uppsala University. What We Are Looking For We are seeking someone who is a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with a couple of years of experience in the profession. Previous experience in municipal elderly care or home rehabilitation is a merit, as is having prescription rights for assistive devices in Västmanland. If you have further training in, for example, geriatrics, dementia diseases, or other areas the employer finds suitable for the position, this is also a plus. You are engaged in your work, enjoy collaborating, have good interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to communicate well with patients, relatives, colleagues, and others. Would you like to complete your BT or ST in general medicine and gain broad and developmental experience in primary care? Sala Primary Care Center is now seeking an ST/BT-physician. As an ST/BT-physician with us, you will work in the broad field of general medicine with patients of all ages and life situations. The work includes both scheduled and acute visits and takes place in close collaboration with other professionals at the primary care center. You work independently with support from colleagues and have daily access to specialist physicians for medical consultation. You will receive regular supervision, dedicated study time, and participate in Region Västmanland's training program for BT/ST-physicians.
