It is a merit if you have worked a few years as a priest in a parish, and if you have some pedagogical education. About the Job You will be part of a team with a total of 20 employees. During the fall, the parish will begin the important work of developing a new Congregation Regulations document, and we look forward to you coming in and contributing to that work. The job also includes meeting the growing spiritual interest among young adults, which could mean, for example, leading discussion groups or trying something completely new. What do you think? About 9,000 people live here, and approximately 62% are members of the Church of Sweden. The parish has two churches, a diaconal center, and two cemeteries. The parish offers a small community with close and long-lasting relationships and great opportunities to make a difference in society. The parish has an open and welcoming ministry with, among other things, a strong diaconal focus, a solid foundation in both finance and governance, and a good team to join. We regularly work on deepening our team through biblical dialogue and prayer as central elements. This fall we are beginning a comprehensive development process to create a new Congregation Regulations document to ensure we remain relevant in our context based on the roots of the Gospel. The location by the sea and the mouth of the Umeå River offers magnificent nature with beautiful views and experiences for both work and private life. The communities of Holmsund and Obbola have undergone changes in several stages from villages to industrial communities and now into increasingly attractive coastal residential areas. Holmsund is located about one mile outside Umeå, which provides advantages with proximity to a larger city and has good collaboration with neighboring parishes.
