Building Permit Case Officer at Båstads Municipality

We are now seeking an experienced building permit case officer/building inspector for the building permit department at Båstads Municipality. The building permit department is part of community development and is responsible for the municipality's planning, building, environmental and mapping issues. We are a team of approximately 35 building permit case officers, administrators, planners, environmental and health inspectors, as well as map/GIS engineers who work in a modern, service-oriented manner together and strive for fully digital case management. The building permit department consists of six case officers, most of whom work with all parts of the building permit process including supervision. One case officer also works with housing adaptation grants. We are located in newly renovated fresh premises in Båstads municipal building in a central location near lunch restaurants and shops. DUTIES The position is a combined role where you work as both a building permit case officer and building inspector. You are responsible for the entire process, from handling to technical tasks, and you manage your cases independently. Which types of cases you will work with varies based on your specialist knowledge and the department's needs and can therefore vary between all case types the department is responsible for. You will take over cases at different stages from case officers who have left, and handling of some supervisory cases may also be relevant. The position places great demands on being able to work in a structured manner, to be able to prioritize between different tasks and to handle different types of cases in a professional manner. You use time efficiently and work systematically, in an organized and methodical way. You follow up on cases and ensure that they are completed, but you are also a team player who works together with the group for an open work environment where all case officers help each other, support each other and are given the opportunity to develop, take responsibility and contribute to the department. A large part of the position involves providing advice, information and service to private individuals, business owners as well as other stakeholders and authorities. The work involves great responsibility in many interesting and sensitive decision situations, and as a case officer you will play an important role in contributing to a sustainable and well-functioning built environment in the municipality.
