Källstorps Parish Seeks Confident and Curious Assistant Priest for Full-Time Position

Källstorps Parish is Sweden's southernmost parish, and the view from our offices overlooks the lighthouse at Smygehuk. The parish has 9 churches, all of which are in use, though the main Sunday service is held at Östra Torps Church in Smygehamn. Many people move to the parish drawn by the long stretching south coast and open landscape. Others have roots here going back generations. We have stimulating and intensive work even during the summer. The position involves, in addition to customary pastoral duties such as conducting services, counseling, church ceremonies, and confirmation instruction, working together with other staff to maintain and particularly nurture relationships with the parish's children and young people, as well as overseeing confirmation work. We also ask that the assistant priest cover for the head pastor during his vacation. Källstorps Parish has volunteer staff members, and collaboration with them is important. The Mass and the community surrounding it is our natural center. For this position, we are looking for someone who is: - Social and comfortable with people of all ages - Confident in yourself - Engaged and curious - Flexible and collaborative We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
