Support Assistant at Kilkestensvägen Group Home
The group home on Kilkestensvägen is located in the Muggebo area. The residence is surrounded by forest and features a wonderful outdoor environment. Five people with various support needs live here in ground-floor apartments, each with their own patio, in a calm setting. We are now seeking a support assistant who, like us, is passionate about individualized care in a homely environment! Are you a caring and positive person with work experience from the disability services field? Are you confident in yourself and an inspiring colleague? Then you might be the person we're looking for! 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a support assistant, you work directly with service users in their living environment, based on LSS legislation with the goal of providing them with a good quality of life. This involves positively encouraging, stimulating, and engaging each person to increase their independence while creating continuity and security. Your tasks are based on each individual's needs, where you are responsible for care support including personal hygiene, laundry, meals, cleaning, community contacts, and assistance with leisure activities. You will also collaborate with many different parties, such as family members, support educators, day programs, unit managers, nurses, and others. The role also includes written documentation. It is important that you are responsive to signals from the residents and that you encourage participation. An important task is to work so that the individual is actively involved in planning their support and in community life. Working hours are mixed, including daytime, evenings, and weekends. This is a permanent full-time position with a start date as soon as possible by agreement. QUALIFICATIONS We expect that you have completed education in child and leisure activities, or are a trained nursing assistant, or have other post-secondary education in behavioral sciences that the employer deems relevant. It is an advantage if you have experience with: • Visual supports pedagogy • Low-arousal approach • AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) • TAKK • Documentation in the Lifecare system • Care support tasks Experience as a support assistant is an advantage, but we also welcome interested newly graduated childcare workers, nursing assistants, and others with post-secondary behavioral science education who want to learn the work and develop with us. Gräshoppans is a relatively newly built group home located in a residential area close to the city center and other activities such as Marieholm Church, swimming pool, and bowling alley. Six young adults with various disabilities live here, each with their own apartment and patio on the ground floor. We are six support assistants working here, and we now need to recruit an additional support assistant for a permanent full-time position. Do you have previous work experience from the LSS field? Are you a calm and secure person with the ability to act with low-arousal communication? Then you might be the person we're looking for! 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a support assistant, you work close to the users in their living environment and are part of the user-centered work. In your role as a support assistant, you work according to LSS legislation to provide people with a good quality of life. This means positively encouraging, stimulating, and engaging each person toward increased independence, as well as creating continuity and security. Your work duties include, based on the individual's needs, responsibility for care and supporting them with personal hygiene, laundry, meals, cleaning, social contacts, and support for leisure activities.
