The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic in Kristinehamn is now seeking a specialist physician to join our committed team. Your Workplace The clinic is organized within the Adult Psychiatry operational area in Region Värmland. In addition to the clinic in Kristinehamn, psychiatric outpatient care is available in Hagfors, Torsby, Arvika, Säffle, and Karlstad. The psychiatric outpatient clinic in Kristinehamn is centrally located with short commuting distances to both Karlstad and Karlskoga. We operate our unit in close multidisciplinary collaboration with permanent specialist physicians. We are a stable and well-functioning clinic with low staff turnover across all professions and will be fully staffed following the filling of this position. You will work at a clinic with a good and supportive work atmosphere, with clear and established routines. With us, you'll work in a team with high competence that prioritizes the patient's wellbeing. At the Kristinehamn clinic, in addition to three other specialist physicians, we have psychologists, resident psychologists, counselors, specialist nurses, and licensed practical nurses, training physicians, administrative staff, and occupational therapists. We operate our activities in some of Region Värmland's finest facilities and are committed to developing collaboration within psychiatric outpatient care and with neighboring care providers. Your Responsibilities We need to staff our stable and competent physician team and are therefore seeking a colleague with interest in the broad and varied general psychiatric assignment. The work includes both diagnostic and treatment work in close collaboration with other physicians and multidisciplinary cooperation with colleagues at the clinic. The assignment involves independent clinical treatment work, as well as assessments and participation in neuropsychiatric, psychosis-related, and personality-related diagnostic work. In your role, you are expected to contribute to supervision. At the clinic, we operate a dual-room model, a work and supervision model aimed at improving the training environment for physicians in training (AT, BT, or ST physicians) while increasing patient safety. The model involves multiple training physicians working in parallel, seeing patients in their own rooms, while a specialist physician serves as a supervisor without their own scheduled patients. As a specialist physician, you are expected to work in a structured, flexible, and evidence-based manner, with strong knowledge of psychiatry, psychiatry's mission related to patient groups, working methods, care levels, legislation, and interventions. We work across three municipalities with clinics in Kristinehamn and Filipstad. The primary work is centered in Kristinehamn, but some travel may occur, for example for home visits or LPT assessments. You will be offered thorough introduction and continuous dialogue and support regarding how the work is conducted and structured. Our work group is consistently stable and well-functioning with high psychiatric competence. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. We can offer different arrangements based on experience and preferences; there is a possibility to discuss either a specialist physician position or a senior physician position. To thrive in this position, you need to have personal maturity, a secure approach, and a strong ability to collaborate, communicate, and cooperate with patients, relatives, colleagues, and care partners. You need to have excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and be well acquainted with documentation in accordance with Swedish health and healthcare legislation.
