Responsibilities As Fire Chief and Safety Chief, you have overall operational, personnel, and budget responsibility for the fire and rescue service as well as the municipality's overall security work in Kinda municipality. You lead and develop the operations with a holistic perspective and are responsible for ensuring that both operational and strategic security and preparedness matters are handled in a structured and efficient manner. The role involves leading and coordinating the municipality's work in areas such as fire prevention, crisis preparedness, civil defense, fire and rescue services on heightened alert, and other security-related matters. You are responsible for regulatory authority within the fire and rescue service area and for follow-up, analysis, and learning after completed operations and incidents. You will also serve as incident commander on emergency calls and will be on a duty schedule that is planned annually. You are a clear and trusted leader with a strong ability to initiate and drive development and change initiatives. Through active environmental monitoring, you ensure that the operations are well equipped for a changed and expanded societal mission, increased demands for preventive work, and future competency needs. As a manager, you create good conditions for managers and employees to succeed in their assignments. You are communicative, proactive, and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even under time pressure. With stable and present leadership, you drive the operations forward with a focus on quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. The position reports directly to the Municipal Director. Qualifications We are looking for someone with at least five years of relevant professional experience in fire and rescue services, security, crisis preparedness, or related areas. You have several years of experience in management roles with budget and personnel responsibility and documented experience in development and change management. You have good knowledge of security issues, civil defense, and fire and rescue services on heightened alert. The ability to work both strategically and operatively is a prerequisite for success in the role. Basic knowledge of English and a category B driver's license are required for the position. You have completed one of the following trainings according to MSBFS 2022:1: · Fire Command B · Advanced training for fire engineers (RUB) · Leadership course as incident commander It is an advantage if you have broad local knowledge and have also completed the Supervision A training and have experience working in a municipal security organization.
