On-Call Emergency Response Personnel for Tanumshede and Hamburgsund
Do you want to help the municipality's residents and visitors feel safe in their daily lives?
Then you're the person we're looking for as on-call emergency response personnel - we welcome your application!
Description
Tanum's emergency services consist of two on-call stations (emergency response personnel on call), one station in Hamburgsund and one in Tanumshede. We are approximately 60 employees and are part of the Western Rescue Region.
Now we want to strengthen our team and are seeking colleagues for both our Hamburgsund station and our Tanumshede station. We are looking for more firefighters who can serve in an on-call group or in a pool group.
Job Responsibilities
Working as an on-call firefighter means you are helping create safety in society. You may have another job or be studying, but you must be prepared to respond when the pager sounds and arrive at the fire station promptly so that the rescue vehicle can leave the station within 5 - 7 minutes. You will be part of an on-call group that operates on a set schedule, typically every fourth week.
As a group, you will solve tasks together and be dispatched during various emergency situations such as fires, traffic accidents, drownings, and other situations where rapid intervention may be critical.
Qualifications and Personal Qualities
To perform the work as a firefighter, the following qualifications are required:
be in full health as confirmed by a medical examination
have basic physical fitness as confirmed by a treadmill test
have at least a Class B driver's license and access to your own vehicle
be able to swim
live and work within 5 minutes (Tanumshede) - 7 minutes (Hamburgsund) from the fire station
have your primary employer's consent to leave work for alarms, possible exercises, and training
You are a person who:
shares our core values of trust, responsibility, respect, and consideration
wants to make a difference in society
has both feet on the ground and your heart in the right place
enjoys developing and learning new things
wants to solve tasks together as a team
We also look for various qualities and personal traits that are important in emergency services. We know that different professional skills and backgrounds bring increased competence. We also value the competence that comes from balanced age and gender distribution as well as ethnic and cultural diversity.

What We Offer
To give you a good foundation for work as a firefighter, you will first receive internal training for approximately two to three weeks during your first year. Thereafter, you will receive training through the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's rescue service-adapted training program or equivalent training, which is six weeks long.
You must be prepared to obtain a Class C driver's license (truck), which will be covered by us. To maintain good knowledge, you will train approximately 50-60 hours per year, usually in the evenings. You will receive payment for on-call duty, training, exercises, and any emergency responses.
