Nordmalings Municipality is now seeking a coordinator for youth center operations and children and youth recreation in the municipality. The Workplace The Culture and Recreation Department is responsible for, among other things, swimming pools and sports facilities, music schools, and youth centers. Through our mission, we work to create favorable conditions for residents, cultural actors, and community organizations to both offer and participate in meaningful and health-promoting recreation. The youth center in Nordmalings Municipality is a safe meeting place where children and young people can socialize, participate in activities, and receive support from dedicated staff. The operations are based on participation, where young people can influence the content. The work takes place in close collaboration with various actors such as schools, IFO (Individual and Family Care), and community organizations to create a safe and inclusive recreation and growing environment. The focus is on preventing exclusion and risk behaviors, strengthening self-esteem, and offering active, safe, and developmental recreation. The municipality has recently decided to operate the youth center in-house. This means that managers and staff, together, will shape and develop the operations to meet children and young people's needs, both now and in the future. Role and Responsibilities As a coordinator, you have responsibility for coordinating, collaborating, and developing youth center operations as well as strengthening the municipality's work with children and youth recreation. The coordinator role includes, among other things: Coordinating and developing youth center operations Contributing to the development of the municipality's work with children and youth recreation Planning, implementing, and following up on activities for children and young people Supporting and guiding staff, such as at the youth center, in daily work Collaborating with internal and external actors, such as schools, individual and family care (IFO), care services, libraries, community organizations, and other relevant parties Promoting children and young people's participation and influence in the design and content of operations Contributing to security-creating and preventive measures Administrative tasks Your Profile For the coordinator position in youth center operations and children and youth recreation work, you must have post-secondary education in social work or pedagogy, such as social pedagogy, youth leader education, or other equivalent education in the field (or documented many years of experience that the employer considers equivalent). You should also have experience working with children and young people and a valid driver's license (Category B). It is advantageous if you have experience in coordination, project management, or leadership, administrative work, or experience collaborating with community organizations. Personal qualities/abilities that are important for succeeding in the role are that you are/have: self-driven - take initiative, drive work forward, and take responsibility for the whole flexible - adapt to changing needs in the operations good collaboration skills - work well with others, build good relationships, and work closely with colleagues, schools, IFO, care services, and others culturally aware - have an inclusive and norm-conscious approach holistic perspective - have an overall perspective on children and young people's recreation and see connections between young people's recreation, school, and support measures structured - plan, organize, and follow up on operations in a clear manner Employment The coordinator role includes some evening and weekend work. Before employment, a certificate from the criminal record registry must be presented.
