Registered Nurse for Department 20, Rehabilitation Clinic

About Us The Rehabilitation Clinic is part of specialized care and operates at both locations of Blekingesjukhuset. The clinic organizes Blekingesjukhuset's rehabilitation services with inpatient ward and outpatient operations. We have 240 employees across various professions providing the region's residents access to specialized rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient care, with diagnostic groups in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and cancer rehabilitation. Department 20 consists of 12 beds, distributed across two teams, within the Rehabilitation Clinic. We collaborate with the Medical Clinic and the rest of the hospital. Department 20 is a rehabilitation ward where adult patients with various diagnoses receive care during the rehabilitation phase. This means that as a registered nurse, you will follow the patient through the entire rehabilitation process. On the ward, you will meet patients who, following stroke, neurological disease, traumatic or anoxic brain injury, postoperative care, orthopedics, spinal cord injury, or other conditions, require intensive rehabilitation within specialist care. Within Rehabilitation Medicine, extensive research and development takes place, and we work with continuous improvements. If you are curious and want to be part of this work—do not hesitate to submit your application! In Karlshamn, there is a specialist team for spinal cord injuries connected to the department, which means these patients come to the ward's rehabilitation team at an early stage. Patients with stroke or brain injury also come at an early stage for care and rehabilitation. Monday through Friday, we have a coordinator on the ward who handles all incoming calls during daytime, is responsible for rounds, holds SIP meetings, and supports the nurses with various administrative tasks to free up patient care time. About the Job The work tasks on the ward are highly varied. We have the advantage of following the patient from acute admission through the entire rehabilitation period. We collaborate daily with multiple professions (such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists), which can make a significant difference for the patient. We work patient-centered in interdisciplinary teams and prioritize high patient participation. A rehabilitation plan is created together with the patient and reviewed regularly. The goal of rehabilitation is for the person to become as active and independent as possible, where we coach the patient together and offer training and treatment interventions. Our work tasks also include a significant portion of medical-technical procedures, where we work with patients with PEG tubes, intravenous infusions, and tracheostomies. As a registered nurse, you are continuously faced with new challenges, which promotes your professional development. Department 20 is a safe ward to work on; we can consult colleagues about virtually everything. We care for one another and want new staff to feel welcome and be part of the team. You will have opportunities here! As a registered nurse on Department 20, we offer you: Opportunity to gain broad competence Interdisciplinary teams with the patient in focus Varied and developmental work Becoming part of a wonderful team of colleagues Region Blekinge's introduction program for newly graduated nurses Individually tailored introduction for four weeks or by agreement Rotational service with flexible scheduling so you can influence your work hours Opportunity for further education and personal development Wellness allowance and free access to our gyms in Karlshamn and Karlskrona About You We are looking for someone with Swedish nursing licensure. If you have experience in the profession, that is valuable to us, but newly graduated nurses are also warmly welcome. Experience working on an inpatient ward is a plus. As a person, it is important that you are responsive, open, and communicative. You put the patient at the center and have good patient relations. You have a genuine interest in rehabilitation and in motivating and encouraging patients in their training. You identify and take initiative on matters on your own and are solution-focused. You have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to a good work environment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is part of everyday work. We prefer that you have good computer skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and collaboration ability. Region Blekinge conducts security clearances for all permanent employees.
