Dormsjöskolan Seeks Treatment Pedagogues for Hourly and Holiday Substitute Positions
Business Description: Dormsjöskolan is a residential care home (HVB) for boys aged 7-23 years. We are located in South Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and operate our own independent school. Children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, near a lovely bathing lake and exciting forests. Here there are opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments with supportive adults. Target Group: Boys with neuropsychiatric functional disabilities as well as social and emotional challenges. We have capacity for 28 boys, and our authorization covers placements supported by the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). Description of Work Duties: The foundation of our approach is creating predictability and routines in a structured environment by giving each day, week, and year a clear recurring structure. We assess the children's/young people's abilities and difficulties. The assessment and care plan form the basis for an implementation plan based on each child's/young person's needs. The work primarily involves treatment and motivation work for the child/young person. Personal care is also part of the work duties. The goal is to help the children/young people achieve independent lives with functioning school attendance. Treatment work is individually tailored to each child's/young person's needs and circumstances. Social skills training, anger management, low-key interaction, serial conversations, social stories, and visual supports are some of the methods we use. We are looking for someone who is creative and enjoys physical activity, is passionate about working with children and young people with special needs, and is skilled at building trusting and good relationships. The work requires you to be confident, solution-focused, stress-resilient, and highly patient. Education: A degree as a treatment pedagogue or other equivalent education is desirable.
