Resource Staff
Job Description - Resource Staff As a resource staff member, you participate in the daily work at the preschool and work with the children's group. The resource staff member is an asset to the group and is not a personal assistant to the child with special needs unless otherwise specified. Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developmental everyday experience for each child and for the entire group. It is not always necessary for the resource staff member to be the one caring for the child with special needs. That responsibility can and should rotate throughout the day. For example, if a child becomes emotionally dysregulated, it can be beneficial for another educator to step in and help redirect this. In this way, the resource staff member is relieved and care is distributed among the team. The primary task of the resource staff member is to provide the support needed so that children with special needs have the right conditions to manage their preschool day despite their difficulties. The task may also include working with other children if, for example, the preschool teacher or another educator is working with the child who needs support. As a resource staff member, you contribute to making education equitable for all children. You participate in the daily work at the preschool and work within the children's group. You are engaged and actively participate in the everyday activities at and in all aspects of the preschool, both indoors and outdoors. It is important that there is close communication between the responsible teacher and the resource staff member, as well as with the children's guardians.
