Outokumpu in Avesta is now seeking a Reliability Engineer who wants to develop both our production facilities and shared facilities, with a focus on availability, efficiency, and cost-awareness.
About the Role
As a Reliability Engineer with us, you play a central role in developing and improving operational reliability in our facilities. The role is broad and combines technical analysis work with financial considerations and improvement initiatives.
You work both operatively and strategically to identify areas for improvement, analyze data, and drive measures that strengthen availability and reduce costs. The role includes responsibility for both production-related equipment and shared facilities.
An important part of the work is contributing to well-founded decisions through analyses – particularly related to inventory management, spare parts, and capital allocation – to ensure a balanced and efficient maintenance operation.
You collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and other functions and are an important part of developing work methods, structures, and expertise within operational reliability.
Your Main Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and follow up on risks related to functional safety and reliability
Work with analysis of production losses and cost drivers to find root causes and drive improvements
Develop and optimize maintenance strategies, criticality classifications, and equipment structures
Contribute to the development of work methods and processes within operational reliability and maintenance
Work with financial analyses related to spare parts, inventory management, and warehouse optimization
Collaborate on shared facilities and contribute to a holistic perspective in facility management
Participate in improvement initiatives related to technology, work methods, and digital solutions within maintenance
Support technical investigations and contribute to prioritizing measures and minor investments
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with an interest in both technology and economics and who is motivated by improving work methods and creating value in the operation.
We believe you have:
At least 3 years of higher education, for example in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, industrial economics, or equivalent
Interest in and ability to work with data analysis and improvement work
Good system skills, preferably experience with maintenance systems
Good knowledge of blueprint reading is meriting
Meriting:
We welcome experience in the field but are also open to recently graduated candidates with the right profile
Experience working in maintenance, production, technology, or analysis
Work with lifting equipment
