Youth Coordinator for the Mobile Youth Center
Do you want to work with children and young people and contribute to meaningful leisure activities in Tanum Municipality?
Tanum Municipality is now seeking one or two committed youth coordinators on a part-time basis for our mobile youth center. This position is ideal for you if you are a youth coordinator or studying to become one—for example, in youth work, social work, teaching, behavioral science, or another pedagogical or social education program—and you want to combine your studies with practical experience in youth work.
The mobile youth center is a flexible, outreach-based activity that meets young people where they are—in different parts of the municipality, at meeting places, during activities and events. Now we want to develop this work together with you!
About the Position
We are seeking one or two people for part-time employment, totaling approximately 50%. The position can therefore be divided between two people or filled as a larger role depending on the applicant's preferences and the activity's needs. The position(s) are permanent.
Work is mainly scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and occasionally weekends.
About the Activity
We offer open, drug-free, and safe meeting places where youth coordinators are close to young people—in conversations, in laughter, in what challenges them, and in what grows. We work to create environments where young people feel seen, included, and valued.
In the municipality, there are youth centers in Tanumshede, Bullaren, and Hamburgsund, as well as a motor activity center in Hamburgsund. This now includes the development of a mobile youth center. The youth centers in Hamburgsund and Tanum are located near the middle schools, and the target group is mainly young people in grades 6-9 and upper secondary school age. During school breaks, we also work with younger age groups.
The activity's overarching goal is to strengthen young people's personal and social development. We work based on a clear value foundation grounded in human rights, equal worth for all, and a norm-critical and inclusive approach. Through presence and active outreach work, we capture ideas, needs, and initiatives—and make them possible.
We are part of the KEKS network (Quality and Competence in Collaboration) and work with a strong focus on participation and influence, where young people's voices have a real place.
