Unit Manager in LSS
I am looking for a team member and my unit managers are looking for a colleague. Together, we are seeking you—someone who wants to lead with the needs of our service users at the center and create truly great days for the people we serve. This is an assignment for someone who wants to make a real difference in a context where leadership is human, courageous, and close.
The assignment encompasses a service residence as well as short-term and leisure activities for children. You will step into an operation with a clear direction where we develop our work based on service users' needs. In our management group, we help each other, use each other's strengths and differences, and take collective responsibility for quality and development. Here, you are never alone in your assignment.
Voices from the Operation
To give a picture of what it is like to work with us, we also want two managers to describe their experiences with the administration and LSS operations. One has worked here for a long time and the other has recently started.
Jenny on experiences from years within LSS
"Working as a unit manager within LSS has been both meaningful and developmental. No two days are the same, and that is precisely what makes the assignment so rewarding. What I have appreciated most is the proximity to the service users' everyday life and the opportunity to create good conditions for employees in their important work.
For me, it has also meant a great deal to be part of a management group where we help each other, share perspectives, and take collective responsibility for the whole. There is strength in being able to think together, challenge each other, and at the same time drive the operation forward with both care and direction."
Mattias on being new with us
"When I started in the support function department, I experienced a warm welcome, good planning, and plenty of time set aside for my introduction. Even though I felt relatively experienced, it is still a new workplace with new colleagues, new routines, and procedures for me to learn. I have truly experienced supportive colleagues, a supportive manager, and other support functions around me that have contributed to making it feel great to have joined this work community. Last but not least, there are also competent, understanding, and pleasant employees who make my introduction as a manager easier."

JOB DUTIES
In our operations, the service users' needs are the starting point for how we develop our work. We have built a foundation in user analysis and developed the operation with thoughtful approaches and support based on knowledge, experience, and what we know makes a difference in everyday life. You will be joining an operation that is already in motion and wants to continue developing with quality, care, and clear direction.
As a unit manager, you lead close to the operation and the people in it. You have responsibility for the operation, personnel, work environment, and finances, but you do not stand alone. You have direct responsibility for approximately 19 employees, in addition to substitutes and hourly staff. We deliberately work to create manageable assignments for our managers and provide space for close and present leadership. There is support from coordinators and skilled employees with great expertise and experience. We are also implementing pedagogical roles as part of our continued development work. Your role as manager includes driving and developing methodical work together with pedagogues and staff based on service users' needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Who we believe you are
You are a confident and present leader who enjoys being close to both people and operations. You lead with trust, create direction, and see the value in people feeling seen, important, and involved. You have the courage to hold firm, persevere, and think ahead while leading with attentiveness and respect.
This assignment suits you if you are not just seeking your next management role but a context where you can truly influence and make a real impact. Here is a culture where we work together and where development work has a clear purpose: creating better support and a better everyday life for the people we serve.
We are looking for someone with a social work degree or social care education as a priority. Other relevant higher education can be considered if the employer deems it equivalent. You have experience in management and preferably previous management assignments within LSS or related operations.
It is a merit if you have experience working within LSS and familiarity with meeting different needs of children, young people, and adults. We would also like to see that you have experience collaborating with different people, functions, and actors around individuals.
You also need good knowledge of relevant legislation, experience working with quality and follow-up, and a strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. A Category B driver's license is required.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Ongoing.
Why you'd want to be part of this:
With us, you get an assignment that truly matters. You become part of a management group where we help each other, use each other's strengths and differences, and take on the challenge together. If you are seeking a context where focus on service users is more than just words and where you can help shape the next steps in an operation that is already developing, there is much here to want to be part of.
