Forest Planner Description The Property Department of Skara Diocese manages approximately 25,000 hectares of productive forest land, certified according to both FSC® and PEFC®, and conducts a business-oriented operation with a focus on long-term sustainability. We offer varied and independent work that requires initiative and a strong sense of responsibility, where you have the chance to make a difference and contribute to sustainable societal development, with nature and human value at the center. Job Responsibilities You will be part of a team of planners working on tract planning for the implementation of forestry measures. An important part of the role is to plan harvesting and forestry care measures based on certifications and species protection regulations. Other tasks include monitoring and maintenance of our compartment register, as well as economic follow-up of completed measures. You will work independently with operational field work, and in close cooperation with the Diocese Forester and the contracting companies that carry out most of the forestry measures. You will also represent the organization in road associations and serve as a contact person for neighboring property owners and authorities. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a higher education degree in forestry and experience with the tasks described above, or alternatively with other equivalent experience. As an employer, we desire strong knowledge of forest management as well as openness to nature-based forestry and continuous-cover forestry methods. Experience with nature value assessments and good species knowledge, as well as experience using forestry IT systems, is desirable. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a forestry university degree and experience with the tasks described above, or alternatively other experience considered equivalent.
