About Söderåsen After a period of closure, Söderåsen HVB in Mariestad is reopening. This gives you as an employee a unique opportunity to be part of building up the operation again and developing how we work together. Söderåsen is an HVB in central Mariestad for boys and girls aged 13–15 years. The youth who come here may have norm-breaking and acting-out behavior, schooling that is not working, and/or difficulties in their relationships with family and others. The facility is located in a completely renovated school from the turn of the last century and has 8 beds. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES What does the position entail? Work as a treatment pedagogue means being stable support in the youth's daily life. As a treatment pedagogue, you work both awake nights and sleeping on-call according to schedule. During awake nights, you are responsible for routine and unforeseen tasks, such as providing support to youth who need help during the night. During sleeping on-call, you are on standby and may be awakened if needed to support the awake staff. Regardless of role, you contribute to safety, calm, and security for the youth. Work at Söderåsen is based on a milieu therapeutic approach, where secure adult relationships and predictable structure create conditions for youth to grow and develop. We use motivational interviewing (MI), a low-affect approach, and a trauma-informed perspective (TMO). The goal is for youth to feel safe, seen, and to gain the tools they need to feel well and develop, both in their current situation and in the long term. The position is 70% with start according to agreement. Working hours are 20:00–09:00. Introduction takes place during daytime. A trial period may be applied. Start according to agreement. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for someone with at least two years of post-secondary education, or equivalent education, with a focus on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant field. It is a merit if you have previous experience working at an HVB and with youth. You are confident in yourself, can remain calm in challenging situations, and have the ability to create trusting relationships. In meeting with youth, you see possibilities and can convey hope. You have good ability to reflect on your work and collaborate well with others. As travel is part of the work, a driver's license is required. As a behavioral pedagogue, you work closely with young people in their daily life and provide care and supervision. You conduct both structured and spontaneous conversations and observations and, together with colleagues, take responsibility for practical aspects of the operation, such as cooking, cleaning, and other daily tasks. Work at Söderåsen is based on an environmental therapeutic approach, where secure adult relationships and predictable structure create conditions for young people to grow and develop. We use motivational interviewing (MI), a low-affect approach, and trauma-informed care (TIC). The goal is for young people to feel safe, seen, and to gain the tools they need to feel well and develop, both in their current situation and in the longer term. The position includes regular external supervision and ongoing training initiatives. The position is full-time with scheduled working hours that include evening and weekend work. No night shifts; working 2 of 5 weekends. Introduction occurs during daytime hours. A probationary period may be applied. Start date by agreement. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? In working with young people, you see possibilities and can convey hope. You have a good ability to reflect on your work and collaborate well with others.
