Do you want to see it all? Lycksele Hospital is a small, modern, and well-equipped acute hospital in Southern Lapland. It has departments and clinics in areas such as surgery, radiology, internal medicine, rehabilitation/stroke, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and pediatrics. We also staff the region's ambulance helicopter. The hospital and proximity of different operations provide a unique opportunity for development and learning across boundaries and a broad foundation to build on. We conduct close collaboration between clinics and care units at the hospital. We now offer a permanent position where you work at one operation for a period of six months, then move to the next - a chance to learn broadly before you decide! After two years, you choose which operation you want to work permanently in. The arrangement may look as follows for the first two years, with individual planning considered. Six months at the Rehabilitation & Stroke Unit: The care beds are distributed between the stroke area and general rehabilitation, but there are also orthopedic beds for operated elderly patients. Six months at the Surgical-Orthopedic Unit: Here a wide variety of diagnostic groups are treated. Elective care is conducted largely as hip, knee, and bariatric surgery. Acute operations include abdominal observations and trauma of various kinds. Six months at the Medical Unit: Has a general internal medicine focus where the variety of medical conditions includes cardiology, pulmonary diseases, infection, and diabetes. Six months at the Emergency Department: Handles approximately 10,000 visits per year. Non-linear work provides good overview and short wait times. You are part of the working time model that is the same for all units and involves reduced working hours to promote recovery. Common to all units are relatively short care periods and teamwork. We work with structured orientation and patient-centered care. There are discharge coordinators who handle discharges and discharge planning and in some cases contact nurses. JOB DUTIES The work offers great variety and is highly varied in content as you will work within different specialties of inpatient care. You are part of the regular staff group at each clinic and work in close collaboration with other professional categories. We apply the same working time model at all care units. The model provides reduced working hours with maintained full-time salary. The position involves day, evening, and night shifts according to schedule. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed nurse with an interest in specialized hospital care and its development. You adapt easily to new settings where you collaborate with colleagues in different professional categories.
