Middle School Teacher, Gamleby Vikens Free School

Gamleby Vikens Free School is located in Gamleby, just north of Västervik. We are an independent primary school with a Christian profile, with approximately 80 students from preschool through grade 9. We are looking for someone who wants to become part of our school and our vision of creating a safe school environment where students get the very best conditions to succeed in their studies. With our small teaching groups and active values-based work, we build an accessible learning environment for all students. Our operations should be small, family-like, and professional. The small format increases opportunities to support students both in their studies and in social interaction. Going to school is not only about learning subject knowledge, but also about collaborating, challenging oneself, and growing as a person. Students need to have many adults around them who can guide them through all these learning processes, which is why we have relatively high staff density. Job Responsibilities You will work as a teaching teacher at the middle school level. Opportunities exist in several subjects, including social sciences and natural sciences. Submit your application and we will review whether your profile matches our needs. The employment percentage can be adjusted, but a full-time position is offered. With us, you will find just over 20 colleagues who are all passionate about our school. You will all belong to the same work team, but you will also be part of a smaller subject-specific team. As a teacher, you are responsible for designing your teaching based on the curriculum goals, where you plan, prepare, implement, and evaluate your own teaching. If you are new as a teacher, you will receive support from a mentor, and if you are an uncertified teacher, you will conduct teaching but will not be responsible for grading. Qualifications You have teacher certification with qualifications in one or more subjects to teach at the middle school level. You have the ability to independently take responsibility for your teaching, but you are also a receptive team player who appreciates working according to sometimes shared approaches. You not only focus on your own teaching but contribute to creating a safe school by maintaining order, building relationships with students, and collaborating with colleagues to further develop the school's operations. The school not only has the task of conveying subject knowledge but also has an educational role. The curriculum (Lgr22) is clear that Swedish primary school should not be value-neutral, but should be based on the ethics maintained by the Christian tradition and Western humanism.
