Riksten School Seeks a Teacher of Social Studies and Swedish for Grades 7-9

Description Riksten School is now seeking a certified primary school teacher with qualifications in Social Studies and Swedish for upper secondary grades. It is also an asset if you have qualifications to teach Swedish as a Second Language. You will have the opportunity to plan and develop your teaching together with skilled and motivated subject colleagues in collaborative learning within grades 7-9. In your role, you will conduct instruction and related tasks such as preparation and follow-up of instruction, as well as grading. You will be part of a work team and participate in the team's collaborative work. You will contribute through collegial cooperation to a positive learning environment through active engagement. Together, you will keep student learning development in focus. You will also collaborate with other staff at the school. You will actively participate in the school's values-based work and work inclusively. Mentorship is a central part of your role through social contacts regarding students and classes, contact with guardians, absence management, and development meetings. In your role, you will collaborate with the student support team. As an employee with us, you are an ambassador for the school. Workplace Description Riksten School is a relatively newly built, airy, and fresh school in Rikstens Friluftsstad, Tullinge. We opened in fall 2013 and have operations from preschool class through grade 9, with approximately 800 students and 100 employees. Riksten School is a school where new ideas and engagement are appreciated at all levels. Our students are ambitious and just as we have high expectations for them, they have high expectations for us. We have dedicated educators who work to create quality instruction and a sense of security for our students. We place great emphasis on good work environment, clear structures, and a common approach toward our students. We invest in early reading instruction and a language-developing work approach. We use the Bornholm Model and the program Tänka, resonera och räkna in preschool class. We work with the violence prevention program Tåget to ensure a safe school environment. Riksten School has a well-functioning student support system where school leadership, school health services, and special educators work closely with the school's other educators. We are divided into work teams by grade level, and these form a unit for the stage. The work team and unit you belong to provide strong support for individual educators. About You You are a certified primary school teacher with qualifications in Social Studies and Swedish (qualifications in Swedish as a Second Language are an asset).
