Watch the film about how Götene became the world's most well-known Swedish municipality. We are seeking a temporary residential support worker position at Nygårdens Motivation and Support Housing. Nygårdens Motivation and Support Housing is intended for people with various social difficulties such as homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance abuse problems, who need support on the path to an independent life. In the operations, the individual's needs and conditions are placed in focus. We work with motivational interviewing (MI), a low-arousal approach, and maintain close collaboration with coordinators, social services, and employment coaches. Your role as a residential support worker is to provide continuous support based on each person's individual needs, create security, and motivate toward a sober and drug-free life. An important part of the work is to develop abilities in our clients and motivate them toward work or other activities. We work to guide, advise, and support the client toward a more independent life. The tasks include establishing implementation plans and documenting in accordance with applicable legislation. The support provided is a benefit-assessed service under the Social Services Act (SoL). To thrive in this role, we believe you need to be flexible, stress-resilient, and independent. You should have a good ability to cooperate and analytical skills, as well as the ability to independently plan, implement, and follow up on measures. You have the ability to provide support without compromising the client's right to self-determination or taking over responsibility for the client's life. You believe that change is possible and can convey calm and a positive feeling to clients even in difficult circumstances. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant education for this position, such as treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, healthcare program with psychiatric focus, or what the employer deems equivalent. Previous experience from the field of substance abuse and mental health is an advantage. A driver's license is required for the position of residential support worker. You have empathy and respect for our clients and their situation. You take responsibility for your assignment by making your own decisions and being action-oriented. You are independent as well as able to work in a team. You express yourself well orally and in writing, and you demonstrate good judgment and a positive view of human nature with respectful treatment. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Terms Temporary position for the period September 26, 2026 – August 15, 2027, or by agreement. Full-time position, day shift, evening shift, weekend work, and on-call sleeping hours.
