Your Assignment As Operations Director for primary school, you have a key role in leading and developing the operations forward. You are part of the Children and Learning sector's leadership team where a strong holistic perspective characterizes the strategic work. The assignment includes, among other things: • Supporting and developing principals in their leadership • Creating direction and holding together a complex organization • Ensuring a shared focus across a broad range of operations • Working strategically with the school's core mission – planning, instruction, and assessment • Leading and driving reform work within primary education To succeed in the role, you need to: • Be clear and dare to make decisions • Have the courage to try new things and drive development forward • Have a strong holistic perspective and be able to prioritize strategically • Practice coaching-based leadership • Create participation without losing direction You have excellent communication skills and can tailor your message in a clear and trust-building way to different audiences, such as media, political representatives, external stakeholders, and staff. You are a leader who builds trust, creates structure, and gets people to work toward common goals. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: • Management experience within the school system • Experience leading change and development work • A degree from a principal program • Good knowledge of primary school curriculum guidelines • Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written • A B-level driver's license Background from primary school is highly meriting, but we welcome you with experience from related activities where you have a good understanding of the school's mission. Workplace Description The Children and Learning sector is now seeking an Operations Director for primary school, one of three operational areas within a sector characterized by strong collaboration between several different activities, which creates good conditions for cooperation and holistic perspectives regarding children's development. The Children and Learning sector consists of nearly 750 employees and 30 managers distributed across three operational areas that include preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, child and youth authority, open care/family teams, prevention unit, municipal activity responsibility, leisure activities through Verkstäderna, and cultural school.
