We are now looking for a unit manager for one of our forensic psychiatric wards at Brinkåsen! The OperationAdult psychiatry at NU Healthcare is divided into four sections. Section 1 consists of general psychiatric inpatient care, secretariat, and psychiatric emergency care, while section 2 consists of general psychiatric outpatient care. Section 3 comprises forensic psychiatry and section 4 consists of the operation's specialist physicians and senior trainee physicians. Forensic psychiatry at NU Healthcare is located at Brinkåsen where there are five forensic psychiatric wards and two shared forensic psychiatric resource units. The mission of forensic psychiatry is to offer qualified care and rehabilitation to patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The goal is for patients to feel better – through treatment and support – and in the long term to be able to live a functioning life in society without relapsing into crime. As one of our unit managers moves on to new challenges, we are now seeking a unit manager who wants to take over responsibility for Department 93 and develop forensic psychiatry together with us. About the RoleYou are responsible for operations, finances, and personnel for your department where you are the manager of approximately 25 employees who are nurses, care assistants, social pedagogues, and team leaders. In Department 93, we care for patients whose issues primarily consist of personality disorders in combination with long-term substance abuse, but psychosis-like conditions also occur. The department needs present and committed management, with a focus on actively working to strengthen the work environment and ensure clear structures for patient safety. The role involves continuously monitoring and developing the structure around work environment and patient safety issues together with department staff and other professionals. In addition to responsibility for your department, you are also expected to collaborate across department boundaries and engage in development work that affects the entire forensic psychiatry operation. You will have a job that is constantly developing, educational, and exciting where you work both operatively and strategically. You work toward a long-term sustainable and good work environment. The operation also participates in regional development together with other administrations in the region. You report directly to the section manager for the forensic psychiatric section. As a new manager at NU Healthcare, you are offered a structured introduction through the Introduction Program for New Managers and the opportunity for mentorship within the organization. This gives you good conditions to develop in the management role and build valuable networks with other managers. Within forensic psychiatry, you are also offered close operational support through mentorship at Brinkåsen, where you are assigned an experienced colleague as a mentor. RequirementsLicensed nurse or other relevant university degree that the employer considers equivalent. Driver's license (Category B). Meritorious Previous management experience. Experience leading operations and driving development work with good knowledge of work environment and labor law. Experience in psychiatric or forensic psychiatric care. Personal Qualities and LeadershipWe are looking for a manager with engaged leadership who wants to make a great effort to develop the content of forensic psychiatry together with other managers and employees. You find it easy to structure and prioritize your work and are comfortable delegating, encouraging, and following up on results. We are looking for someone who is attentive with a good ability to collaborate, as the position requires close collaboration with other managers and other stakeholders, both within and outside forensic psychiatry. You will also have close collaboration with the department's senior physician who has medical management responsibility. As the position also includes administrative tasks, it is important that you feel comfortable working with digital tools and can quickly familiarize yourself with new digital systems and working methods. For us, digital competence is a natural and necessary part of everyday work, which means you are expected to be able to handle administrative processes in an efficient and structured manner.
