ABOUT THE WORKPLACE Home care helps and supports residents of the municipality who continue to live in their own homes but need support and assistance to maintain a functioning daily life. For us, it is important that you want to contribute to a positive atmosphere and see opportunities for improvement. To ensure a good introduction, new employees are assigned a mentor who will support you during your first time at work. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a home care assistant with us, you work together with your colleagues for the residents' benefit and are an important part of their daily lives. Home care provides nursing care and services based on assistance decisions. We also work on behalf of health and medical services, where nurses delegate tasks such as medication administration, insulin administration, and other delegated health and medical tasks such as catheter irrigation and oxygen management. Our operations also perform delegated tasks from physiotherapists in the form of training programs. Residents have different support and assistance needs, which means you will have variety in your work. As an employee, you have a base placement in a home care team, but when needed, we help each other across unit boundaries to meet residents' needs. You will transport yourself by bicycle, car, or on foot depending on the work team. To meet the challenges that home care faces in the future, you as an employee will play an important role in developing and implementing new working methods. Work hours are day/evening shifts and every other weekend. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with home care assistant training and proof of protected professional title. Previous experience in healthcare can be an asset. We prefer candidates with experience in medication administration and insulin. You have good computer skills and preferably experience with social documentation. Since we have both car-based and bicycle-based teams, a B-level driver's license may be required for some positions. Cycling skills are an asset. A trial employment period may apply and will convert to a permanent position once valid delegation is provided. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Care and Services Department works with people through all stages of life and creates better conditions for people's quality of life. The department includes home care, residential care, support and services, administrative work for the elderly and people with disabilities, staffing, and health and medical services.
