About Ekhaga Care and Housing In Onsala, you will find Ekhaga care and housing with a total of 94 apartments. Here, dedicated and knowledgeable staff work with elderly individuals who have somatic or dementia-related conditions. Ekhaga is operated as a franchise by Vardaga. We are a dementia-certified facility, which means all staff here are trained in dementia care and communication through Vardaga's Dementia Academy. We use fixed schedules that include varying day/evening shifts and every other weekend work. As an employee, you have some opportunity to influence your own working hours in consultation with your team and group manager. We collaborate with the organization Ung Omsorg (Young Care). This means a team of young people aged 14–18 visit us on weekends and during school breaks. Ung Omsorg organizes various activities to enrich the lives of our residents. You have a group manager who spends most of their time working closely with you. Becoming a group manager is also a potential career path for nursing assistants. We use animal-assisted care here and regularly have visits from therapy dogs. We continuously work to come up with new and exciting activities for our residents. At Ekhaga, we have an Elderly Center with two activity coordinators on staff who help develop activity programs for our senior residents. As a nursing assistant, you are incredibly important! Your role is to provide quality of life. With your help, our residents can maintain their lifestyle and habits. You see each person and understand what they need. At the same time, you will learn a great deal about care, aging, and how to interact with people. You work closest with the residents and therefore play a key role in the team alongside nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. You also participate in care planning and write social documentation. Your experience and knowledge We would like to see that you are a trained nursing assistant with some years of experience in elderly care. Good computer skills and experience with documentation are also merits. Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, are required, but otherwise, your CV is not the most important thing.
