Vara Municipality is now seeking an engaged traffic engineer/street engineer who wants to contribute to creating safe, accessible, and vibrant public spaces for our residents and businesses. This position is a temporary assignment, but there are good opportunities for a longer-term employment. Your Role As a traffic engineer/street engineer in Vara Municipality, you'll have a broad and developmental role with great opportunities to make an impact. You'll work both as a client and as an investigator, driving issues within traffic, streets, and community development. You will, among other things: - Work with reinvestments, traffic measurements, and permits - Participate in planning and development of streets and public environments - Engage in citizen dialogues and maintain contact with residents and businesses - Collaborate with politicians, other departments, and external actors such as the Swedish Transport Administration - Serve as an expert on matters concerning traffic, legislation, and community development - Participate in developing expert statements The role involves many contact points where your communication skills are important. You need to be able to balance different interests and contribute to solutions that create value for both the operations and the municipality's residents. Your Knowledge and Experience We're looking for someone who has: - Relevant university education or equivalent experience that the employer considers equivalent - Experience from the construction industry, preferably as a client, project manager, or executor - Interest in maintenance and development issues within streets and traffic - Good IT skills - A valid driver's license (category B) It's important that you: - Can work independently and at the same time have good collaboration skills - Have the ability to see the big picture but also pay attention to details - Are organized, driven, and can prioritize your work effectively - Feel comfortable in a politically managed organization As a person, you are solution-oriented, attentive, and confident in your professional role. You have the courage to handle complex situations with multiple stakeholders and can explain various parts of the community development process in an educational way. You have excellent communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
