About the role As a technical procurement specialist, you'll operate at the intersection between procurement and technical handlers, with a focus on analyzing technical data and maintaining item data in systems. You'll primarily support procurement professionals in selecting the right materials and contribute knowledge about suppliers' ability to produce and deliver against the combined requirements – materials that ultimately become components in advanced naval defense systems. One of your main tasks is to create new procurement items with correct information in the material catalog so they become purchasable. You'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement staff, bringing technical expertise to support when supplier questions arise. Summary of work tasks: Create new procurement items in the material catalog and ensure that mandatory attributes are registered so items become purchasable Create purchase requisitions based on system needs or other material-driven documentation, and consolidate purchases cost-effectively Procure materials for projects with extended delivery periods (forecast purchasing) Assist procurement staff and other functions with technical expertise, including when handling supplier inquiries About you We're looking for someone with a genuine technical interest who thrives working at a detailed level.
