This position involves working with technical systems on surface combat vessels, mine countermeasures vessels, and support vessels where propulsion systems including engines, gearboxes, and propellers are the main focus of your area of responsibility. Other related systems within your area include hydraulics, power generation, and various control and regulation systems. With professional staff, we implement and develop operations together with the rest of the Swedish Armed Forces and in close cooperation with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and industry. The department (DSK) consists of approximately 90 employees distributed across four locations: Karlskrona, Berga, Muskö, and Gothenburg. The position is titled Systems Engineer in the Swedish Armed Forces and is located in Muskö. Main responsibilities Prepare preventive and corrective maintenance measures in dialogue with operating units and convert these into orders to suppliers Control and ensure quality (through documentation review, inspections, and verification) of maintenance performed by suppliers Provide information for economic follow-up of placed orders Monitor technical status regarding equipment (including spare parts, documentation, maintenance status, equipment inspections, and performance verification) and propose measures Conduct dialogue regarding orders/overhauls with suppliers and users Represent customer interests within your technical area in relation to other technical parties within the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV, and industry REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Completed upper secondary education Post-secondary education with technical orientation or other relevant competence for the area that the employer considers equivalent Technical experience with engines and/or electronics systems (for example propulsion, power generation, and control of these) Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing Experience working in technical support systems for operations and maintenance Class B driver's license Personal qualities Since the role involves many contact points, you have good teamwork skills and you listen to others and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner. MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of marine technical systems, particularly machinery and propulsion systems Experience with technical system or maintenance work within machinery and propulsion areas Experience with fire alarm and extinguishing systems Experience handling technical information in both paper and digital formats and use of operations monitoring systems Experience working in support systems SAP/S4HANA Experience with technical service in the Swedish Armed Forces Experience from maritime or shipyard industry OTHER INFORMATION Type of employment: Permanent.
