Work where care, freedom, and collaboration meet Are you studying to become an occupational therapist and nearing the end of your education? At Avesta municipality, you'll have the opportunity to complete your studies with study pay and will be offered a permanent position as an occupational therapist upon completing and passing your education. As an occupational therapist in Avesta municipality, you play an important role in people's daily lives. You work independently with significant personal responsibility while collaborating closely with physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and other professionals. The work is varied and meaningful, focused on strengthening individuals' ability to live as independently and actively as possible. You'll work with patients in regular housing, special housing, and when needed within LSS and social psychiatry. Your tasks include: Assessing activity, functional, and mobility capacity Planning and implementing rehabilitation measures Testing, prescribing, and following up on assistive devices Conducting activity assessments in home environments Providing advice and support to patients, relatives, and staff Writing certificates, for example housing adaptation certificates Collaborating with other healthcare providers and professionals Contributing to business development work As an occupational therapist, you also contribute to a safe and sustainable work environment for care and nursing staff through training and support in transfer techniques and assistive device management. You'll be based at our Skogsgläntan location in Skogsbo but work throughout the municipality. With us, you make a difference every day. Study employment during your education During your studies, you'll have the opportunity to work as a rehabilitation assistant, receiving an agreed hourly wage in addition to your study pay. The role involves varied, patient-centered work where you'll apply your theoretical knowledge in practice and develop in your future profession. Tasks include training measures, assistive device management, support with rehabilitation measures, and practical work with assistive devices and transfers. Conditions for the position You'll receive study pay of 21,000 kronor gross per month. Study pay is only distributed during active study terms and does not count toward holiday pay. As a study assistant, you'll be on study leave during your studies. Upon completing your education and submitting your diploma, you'll be offered employment as an occupational therapist in Avesta municipality. Individual salary setting applies after your studies are completed. During longer study breaks, you're expected to work in the department as a rehabilitation assistant. You're expected to begin work as an occupational therapist immediately after completing and passing your education. The employer has the right to reclaim paid study money in accordance with section 26 of the General Terms and Conditions. To receive the full study support, you must be employed as an occupational therapist in Avesta municipality for at least two years after completing your education. If employment ends earlier, 1/24 of received benefits will be repaid for each month falling short of 24 months. If studies are not completed, the entire study pay must be repaid. Qualifications We're looking for someone studying to become an occupational therapist who is in or will begin semester 5 or 6. It's an advantage if you have prior experience working in healthcare, care, or rehabilitation. Experience working in municipal operations is also considered an advantage. You have good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, and a category B driver's license is required. As a person, you're responsible, confident, and have a professional demeanor. You can work independently while enjoying collaboration with others. You're flexible, responsive, and have a desire to help people and contribute to good solutions in everyday life.
