We offer you, as you begin term 6 of the nursing program and choose to start your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for study allowance during your final term (term 6). Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, during your first year with us at Akademiska Hospital you will be part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ). KUÅ is a mandatory professional orientation for you as a newly graduated nurse employed by Region Uppsala, designed to help you sharpen your clinical skills, network with other newly graduated nurses, and have reflection time with experienced nurses. We work patient-centered together in teams and have a high work tempo, and everyone is very committed to helping each other when needed. We have a wonderful work environment and both employees and patients feel at home on our department. We have just over 40 employees on the department – nurses and nursing assistants, as well as administrative staff. Our operational area is large, and in addition to the pulmonary and cardiology sections, we also have thoracic surgery and thoracic intensive care within our department. We have good collaboration between units and work to make care as efficient and safe as possible for our patients. Your Qualifications You are a nursing student beginning term 6. You are interested in pulmonary medicine and want to start working on department 50E after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and good teamwork skills. What We Offer We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your nursing license, your employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse. You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant or nursing aide during your studies, but it is not required. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty around the clock, so-called shift rotation work.
