WORK DUTIES As a Career and Academic Counselor in SO2, you will be part of our student wellness team with school leadership, special educator, special education teacher, school psychologist, school nurse, and school counselor. You will have the opportunity to work closely with students, staff, and guardians. As a Career and Academic Counselor in SO2, you are expected to inform, guide, and motivate students regarding future studies and career choices. They should receive the knowledge they need to make well-founded decisions about their future. You collaborate with teachers and other school staff. As a Career and Academic Counselor, you are responsible for: • ensuring that the school principal's area plan for career and academic guidance is updated and known throughout the operations • guidance meetings with students. You help provide students with increased knowledge and understanding of themselves, their options, and their choices. This takes place through individual guidance meetings, group activities, and information sessions. • providing information to guardians, for example, before internships and upper secondary school choice • participating in meetings with teachers, students, and guardians • collaborating with teachers on career and academic guidance • supporting and developing career and academic guidance work at the school • administering upper secondary school selection • collaborating with other career and academic counselors in the municipality QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is trained and qualified as a Career and Academic Counselor. We want you to: • have the ability to build good relationships with young people and place the student at the center • enjoy working in groups and collaborating with others • be communicative and express yourself well in both speech and writing • have good computer skills As a person, you are creative, engaged, and attentive. You work independently and in a structured manner while also having good collaboration skills. It is desirable that you have experience working with children and young people, as well as experience working in the school environment. Since you need to collaborate with guardians, other professionals, and external stakeholders, you need to be clear and attentive in your communication. You find it easy to collaborate while also being able to work independently and take your own initiative. You express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing as this is required in daily work. You have completed a qualifying education for Career and Academic Counselor. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-14. Work hours: Daytime.
