Description As an employee in Gislaved Municipality, you are a co-creator in your workplace. We are placed at different schools and have a shared supervisor. The organization includes six people and we have good and close collaboration with regular joint meetings. In the municipality, we have a work plan for how all school staff should actively work to provide our students with a better foundation for making upcoming decisions about their studies and career choices. Furthermore, there is also a person who works part-time as a school and working life development specialist who, together with career and educational counselors, among others, focuses on career and educational counseling in a broad sense. This is a structured and systematic collaboration between school and working life throughout the student's education. Work Duties You will work as a career and educational counselor at Nordinskolan in Smålandsstenar and Ölmestadskolan in Reftele. The position is a temporary assignment until April 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension. As part of your assignment, you will work with young people in compulsory school and prepare them for the transition to upper secondary school and the educational choices they will make. Your duties will include the following: - Conduct professional counseling conversations individually or in groups. - Provide information in classes and to guardians. - Collaborate with other professionals in Student Services. - Collaborate with educational providers. - Collaborate with the business community. - Work with guidance in both narrow and broad scope, also together with other school staff. You will work with career and educational counseling based on the Education Act and current governing documents. Qualifications Educated career and educational counselor. You have good collaboration skills, are organized and stable as a person, and see the full scope of operations. We would like to see that you have a relational approach and can identify various exciting future possibilities together with students. You are easy to interact with and have a desire to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. To thrive with us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in people from different backgrounds and cultures. Your collaboration is deeply connected to your ability to work together and participate in your own and the organization's development.
