Lund University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology About the Workplace We are seeking several student assistants for the temperature biology research group, led by Andreas Nord, which includes a full-time research technician as well as several doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. Read more on the university's website about Working with Us Work Tasks As a student assistant, work tasks may vary, but they must always have a clear connection to your studies. The work includes supervision of experimental animals as an integrated part of ongoing scientific studies. The student assistant is expected to work with animal care and supervision, as well as associated tasks, but will also have the opportunity to develop skills in scientific methodology relevant to animal biology research, including blood sampling and other tissue sampling, injections, and similar tasks. The work will largely be performed on weekends and holidays. Work tasks in this position include: Animal care including feeding and cage cleaning Scientific sampling as applicable Support in experimental animal operations, including assistance to those scientifically responsible Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a student assistant, you must be pursuing full-time studies at higher education level in Sweden, have completed approved studies equivalent to at least 60 higher education credits, and have not begun doctoral studies. Requirements for this position: you are pursuing ongoing full-time studies in the Master's program in Biology or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant you have excellent knowledge of Swedish and/or English, both spoken and written you have knowledge/experience in animal biology you hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology, or alternatively a secondary school diploma as an animal care technician Meritorious qualifications for this position: you have experience working with experimental animals at an experimental animal facility you possess personal qualities such as independence, ability to collaborate, and good communication skills Driver's license category B is meritorious but not required Other Information Employment is limited-term during the period August 31, 2026 to January 17, 2027, which corresponds to the autumn term 2026 and covers 20% employment. You will work according to a fixed schedule to be agreed upon between you and the employer. Provisions regarding employment as a student assistant are found in the Agreement for Student Assistants.
