We have recently opened a new residential care home in a stairwell model according to the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), with a focus on safety, participation, and individualized support. Our services are directed toward individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) and psychiatric diagnoses, where we offer housing with close access to staff and daily support—all with respect for the individual's self-determination. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES You will provide support and services to the residents of the care home. It is important that you build relationships, get to know the residents, and understand their needs and wishes in daily life. You are expected to motivate, guide, and work supportively with the residents. The work is based on independence, participation, and shall be carried out with respect for the residents' integrity and self-determination. At the residential home, we work according to a low-affect approach with a strong focus on clear pedagogy. You should strive to develop a safe daily environment for the residents together with your colleagues. It is important that you can see things from the residents' perspective and adapt your work methods accordingly. QUALIFICATIONS Requirements for the position: • Preferably trained as a support educator; alternatively, a degree from a child and youth program or a care and nursing program. • Knowledge of neurodevelopmental/psychiatric diagnoses and psychiatric conditions • Experience working with this target group within the LSS framework • Works according to a low-affect approach and a salutogenic perspective • Are attentive, responsible, and confident in your professional role • B-class driver's license Meritorious qualifications: • MI - Motivational Interviewing • Language Ambassador • Trained supervisor It is important to us that you are comfortable taking significant responsibility in your work and can collaborate with colleagues, your manager, and other people around the residents.
