Tjörn Municipality is currently seeking an experienced and confident support family in the local area for a child aged 9–11 years. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES The child has a functional disability that requires comprehensive support, supervision, structure, and security in daily life. To feel well and develop, the child needs clear routines, predictability, and calm environments. The child also needs stimulation and motivation in everyday activities and may have difficulty handling stress and changes. We seek secure, stable, and engaged adults with a low-affect approach who can create a calm and secure environment. The child has a great need for closeness and security, and does not sleep independently. The child has epilepsy, which means it's important that you have knowledge of, or are willing to learn more about, the child's specific seizure pattern. Seizures can be serious and require adults to act calmly, confidently, and according to given instructions. You will receive clear information on how to manage seizures, and medication must always be available. Currently, no seizures occur at night. The child also has allergies and requires a special diet, which requires precision and responsibility in daily life. The child can communicate in 2–5 word sentences and understands spoken language if sentences are not too long. Communication is supplemented with sign language and visual supports to understand and be understood. The child has a strong fear of dogs, which means there cannot be a dog in the home. Encounters with dogs outdoors can also cause significant anxiety. A cat in the home works well, however. In leisure time, the child enjoys swimming at a swimming pool or the sea, cycling on their tricycle, and watching animals, especially chickens and rabbits. QUALIFICATIONS We seek you to provide the child with full focus based on the child's needs. A smaller household is preferred, ideally without other children, as the child has difficulty being in larger settings. The assignment comprises two days per month. Tjörn Municipality offers close supervision and the support needed for you to feel secure in the assignment. Tjörn Municipality requires a criminal record check as part of this recruitment. Visit the police website to request a criminal record check. This can be done digitally with e-identification or by filling out a form. Note that processing time can be up to two weeks, so order the check well in advance.
