The role of support assistant at our facility In your role as a support assistant at Gällingevägen group housing, you will work with the goal that every resident here has the opportunity for development, feels included, and has the ability to influence and create a meaningful daily life and leisure time. Since many of our residents have limited speech development, you will learn which communication methods work best in different situations and environments. The residents at Gällingevägen typically have a great need for structure and clear routines as well as predictability, which requires a methodical approach to work. Challenging behaviors and self-injurious behaviors occur, and there can be high noise levels, including during some night shifts. Regardless of whether you have worked in similar roles before, it is important to us that you have time to learn our working methods and for the residents to get to know you. We offer a clear introduction plan so you have the opportunity to become familiar with our routines, our approach, and most importantly our residents who live here and whom we support in all aspects of their daily and weekend life. Your profile As a person, you are responsible for both shared and individual tasks, and you demonstrate respect and consideration in your interactions with those we serve. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, your supervisor, and other partner organizations, and you are interested in fostering understanding in your surroundings to create a respectful work environment. You have the ability to balance different demands while maintaining calm in difficult situations. You also have the ability to distinguish between behavior and the person. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. We place great importance on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who: has relevant education for the target group or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. It is advantageous if you: have knowledge and/or work experience with autism have a B-class driver's license and access to a car, partly because public transportation is not fully developed to the group home. If you don't have a B-class license but can get to the group home, especially on weekends and late evenings using other means, you are of course welcome to apply anyway. Learn more about us Gällingevägen group housing is located in a rural setting in Gällinge, Fjärås. The location was chosen with careful consideration of the target group's need for minimal stimulation and a calm, stress-free environment with greenery and walking opportunities. The target group is young adults with autism and multiple disabilities, and the group home has six apartments. The work team currently consists of a large team working on a rotating schedule with day, evening, and alternating weekends, as well as staff working night shifts.
