We are now seeking an engaged and confident support assistant for an LSS residential facility with five users within person category 1, with diagnoses such as intellectual disability (ID) and autism. In the summer of 2024, Strängnäs Municipality opened a new LSS residential facility in the scenic Stallarholmen area. The facility is located on the outskirts of the community with proximity to forests and green spaces. There are five apartments as well as shared spaces for social interaction and activities. The work team consists of eight employees, and with us you will have excellent opportunities to work together with colleagues to create a safe, developing, and meaningful daily life for the users based on their individual needs and circumstances. WORK DUTIES Work as a support assistant is based on individual implementation plans with the goal of giving each user the opportunity for a meaningful life, increased independence, and participation in their daily activities. The assignment includes mapping skills and support needs in order to create appropriate adaptations and provide individually tailored support. You follow the users through their daily lives and provide support in everything related to home and daily life, for example: • cooking and household chores • personal care • leisure activities and physical activity • social relationships and contact with close ones A pedagogical and low-affect approach is a central part of the work. We are therefore seeking someone who has a genuine interest in the target group and who works with respect, clarity, and commitment in meeting with each individual. Swimming and bathing are recurring activities in the facility where staff participate together with the users. It is therefore a requirement that you can swim and feel comfortable in water. Work time is scheduled with shifts during day, evening, and every other weekend. The position also includes requirements to be able to receive delegated work tasks according to HSL within agreed time. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who has: • education as a nursing assistant with a focus on disability, childcare worker, or other equivalent education • previous experience working in LSS activities • experience with low-affect approaches • experience with social documentation • good computer skills • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • ability to work pedagogically, structured, and safely • a genuine interest in supporting people to increased quality of life • swimming skills and ability to participate in bathing and swimming activities together with users • a B driver's license Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
