Your Role A significant portion of your work will involve establishing and managing a specialized teaching group for students needing additional support, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and phonological awareness (npf). As a special education teacher, you will work with in-depth knowledge of reading, writing, language development, and mathematics development, focusing on individual students. You will use specialized pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction tailored to each student's specific learning difficulties. You will conduct and document assessments, evaluations, and various forms of pedagogical testing aimed at increasing understanding of students' academic challenges. As a special education teacher, you will also contribute your expertise to pedagogical evaluations, adaptations, and intervention plans. You will work to remove barriers and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning spaces and tools. Questions concerning inclusion and values are a natural part of your daily work. Your role includes building relationships both internally and externally characterized by mutual respect and trust, meeting students where they are. You will be a qualified discussion partner on matters concerning children's and students' language and mathematical development in team meetings and student support teams. You will approach students with high expectations, engaging, inspiring, and stimulating them toward learning and personal responsibility. You will lead and organize work to create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and collaboration. You will systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work both independently and with colleagues. Your responsibilities also include planning, prioritizing, and taking responsibility for your own time and professional development. Who Are We Looking For? You hold a teaching credential with authorization to teach special education with emphasis on additional support in grades F-6 in primary school. It is advantageous if you also hold a teaching credential with authorization to teach Swedish and mathematics in grades 1-6 in primary school. The position requires that you have at least 3 years of documented experience with quality teaching within the school system and experience teaching grades F-3 or F-6 in primary school. You can implement the school's mission regarding students needing additional support. The ability to adapt teaching methods and approaches to different groups' and individuals' circumstances is essential for this role. You are naturally well-versed in current pedagogical and didactic research and can apply your in-depth knowledge of reading, writing, language development, and mathematics development in daily practice. We want you to have strong knowledge of and the ability to work from current curriculum guidelines, as well as good knowledge of alternative learning tools. You practice situational, adaptive learning and leadership that is rooted in understanding students' situations and values, meeting them where they are. You build relationships both internally and externally characterized by respect and trust, and can engage, inspire, stimulate, and strengthen students toward learning and personal responsibility. You have the ability to systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work independently and with others, and to document clearly and with high quality. You are naturally well-versed in and uphold the professional ethics principles for teachers. To enable us to review your application, you must attach your diploma and teaching credential. If no qualified credentialed teachers are found, you may be employed on a fixed-term basis as an uncredentialed teacher according to the Education Act. About Us Our school serves approximately 500 students across three buildings. The school grounds invite multiple activities with natural vegetation including bushes and trees. We also have playgrounds, soccer fields, and a basketball court. Within walking and cycling distance are Fjälkinge Hill, Lilles Hill, and the scenic Kjugekull nature area. At Fjälkinge School's upper secondary level, we operate a soccer academy in partnership with Malmö FF, where the goal is for students to develop both academically and as soccer players.
